Father Anthony “Tony” Schumacher, who worked as a journalist for many years before joining the priesthood, died Monday, Sept. 9, in Fitchburg.

Judith A. (Padget) Hyde-Hintzman, who spent more than 20 years as editor of The Monroe Evening Times, died Saturday, Aug. 31, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was 77.

Alan Eisenberg, a colorful and controversial Milwaukee figure who served as editor of a Latino newspaper, died Friday, Aug. 16. He was 77.

Maija Penikis, of Milwaukee, who spent four decades as a reporter for The Post-Crescent in Appleton, died Wednesday, Aug. 7. She was 78.

Robert Lee Bradford II, a longtime newspaper publisher in Minnesota and Wisconsin, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was 80.

Thomas Frederick Perry, a longtime journalist who spent seven years at the Green Bay Press-Gazette, died Saturday, Aug. 10, in Des Moines.

Eugene Relerford, founding publisher of The Chronicle newspaper in Beloit, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, at UW Health University Hospital in Madison. He was 67.

Amber Levenhagen, a reporter for Unified Newspaper Group who was named a WNA Future Headline in 2018, was died Saturday, Aug. 11. She was 25.
