Poll results show mixed impact of higher gas prices

Polco users and readers visiting WNA member websites from March 9 to 22 were asked how they were adjusting to higher gas prices, which hit record highs earlier this month. More than half of respondents said they hadn't made any changes, while 29% were driving less and 13% said they were spending less elsewhere.

Voting rights, voter suppression named top issues in 2022 elections poll

Polco users and readers visiting WNA member websites from Feb. 10 to 22 were asked what they believed was the most important issue for elections and voting in 2022. We asked this question as a follow-up to our previous poll, in which respondents selected election security and/or voting rights as the top governmental priority for 2022.

Out of 587 respondents, 53% said voting rights and/or voter suppression were the most important election-related issues, while 21% said misinformation and disinformation were most important. Twelve percent of respondents chose election security and/or integrity as their top priority, while another 13% were split among the remaining poll options.

New poll question: What is the most important issue for elections and voting in 2022?

A new poll question asking readers what they believe to be the most important issue concerning elections and voting in 2022 is available to be used by WNA members. We are asking this question as a follow-up to our previous poll, in which respondents selected election security and/or voting rights as the top priority for 2022.

Poll suggests voting, election laws should be top 2022 priority

Polco users and readers visiting WNA member websites from Jan. 19 to 31 were asked what issues they believed should be the top government and election priority in 2022.

Out of 526 respondents, 44% said voting and/or election laws should be the top priority, while 26% said inflation and the economy were most important. Fourteen percent of respondents chose COVID-19 and health care as their top priority, while another 16% were split.

Poll indicates mixed concern levels over omicron variant

Polco users and readers visiting WNA member websites from Dec. 1 to 14 were asked how concerned they were about the omicron variant of COVID-19. Out of 580 respondents, 42% said they were somewhat concerned about the variant, while 28% expressed no concern and 27% said they were very concerned. Twenty-two respondents (4%) said they were unsure.

New poll gauges concern about omicron variant

A new poll question gauging readers' level of concern about the omicron variant of COVID-19 is available to be used by WNA members. We are asking the question in light of the recent wave of travel and other restrictions that have been introduced in an attempt to slow the spread of the variant.

Poll indicates strong support for civics education in schools

Polco users and readers visiting WNA member websites from Oct. 5 to 19 were asked whether they believed civics education should be required in Wisconsin schools. Out of 556 respondents, 89% said they supported requiring civics education in all Wisconsin schools, while 6% said local schools should determine their own curriculum.

New poll question: Should civics education be required in Wisconsin schools?

A new poll question asking whether readers believe civics education should be required in Wisconsin schools is available to be used by WNA members. We are asking the question following the recent passage of Assembly Bill 563, which would create a mandatory civics curriculum to be taught in all Wisconsin schools.
