Four decades after joining the Wisconsin State Journal newsroom, longtime sports columnist Tom Oates has announced his retirement.

Angie and Roger Griepentrog, owners of the Freedom Pursuit newspaper, have launched a new publication, the Seymour Source.

The Peninsula Pulse has named former longtime Door County journalist Debra Fitzgerald as its news editor, the newspaper announced last month.

Fitzgerald, who had spent the last 11 years at a newspaper in southwest Minnesota, introduced herself to readers in a column. She previously had worked eight years in the Door County Advocate newsroom before leaving Wisconsin in 2008.

Robb Grindstaff, a member of the WNA Board of Directors, will retire June 30 as general manager of APG Media of Southern Wisconsin.

Jeff Gerritt, an Oshkosh native who now serves as editor of the Palestine (Texas) Herald-Press, last week was named a 2020 Pulitzer Prize winner in editorial writing.
