Janesville Gazette publisher and Adams Publishing Group southern Wisconsin president Mark Lewis has been selected to succeed Matt Montemurro as the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce’s next president/CEO.

Lewis, who is also a member of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association’s board of directors, is scheduled to begin his new role Jan. 6, according to a story in the Journal Times.

Lewis was president and publisher of the Racine Journal Times for 13 years, and was the president and publisher for Southeast Wisconsin, overseeing the Kenosha News and Lake Geneva Regional News.

He also served on the RAMAC board of directors for nine years, including a term as chairman.

Lewis and his wife, Lisa, have three adult children, all of whom graduated from Racine St. Catherine’s High School.

“Lisa and I are excited to return to Racine,” Lewis told the Journal Times. “It became our adopted home. We have numerous friends in Racine that we look forward to being closer to. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead an organization I have so much respect for.”

RAMAC offers a variety of pro-business and pro-community programs and initiatives that aim to improve the business climate and vitality of the greater Racine area.
