Adams Publishing Group has named Madeline Westberg managing editor of The (Cottage Grove / Monona) Herald-Independent and McFarland Thistle, the company announced Tuesday.
Westberg since October 2018 had served as associate editor of the Cambridge News & Deerfield Independent, another newspaper in APG’s southern Wisconsin group. During her time with the News & Independent, Westberg earned several first-place reporting awards in the WNA Foundation Better Newspaper Contest.

Prior to her time with APG, Westberg was a summer intern for Unified Newspaper Group in 2017. She also served as a news reporter for The Badger Herald student newspaper at UW-Madison, from which she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2017.
