
Lee A. Fensin, who spent his entire journalism career on the Waukesha Freeman sports staff, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, following complications from a stroke. He was 76.
Fensin was born Aug. 3, 1944, in Chicago. He attended the city’s South Shore High School and went on to study at the University of Illinois.
He was married 52 years to his wife, Marsha (Gelbart) Fensin. Together they had two children — Scott and Lori — and five grandchildren.
Fensin spent his entire 48-year career in journalism with the Freeman. As the longtime sports editor, Fensin “was an institution at the Freeman and in the community,” publisher Bill Yorth said in Fensin’s obituary.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 29, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Brookfield.
