WNA launches content sharing platform to support newsrooms during COVID-19 outbreak

In the interest of continuing to expand access to COVID-19 coverage, help support newsrooms during this challenging time and cover the pandemic from every angle, the WNA has developed a platform to facilitate the sharing of content among members.

We’ve already been in discussions with several newspapers across the state that have agreed to share their coverage of the pandemic for republication by other WNA members. If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to upload some of your newspaper’s stories to the portal — or designate someone in your newsroom to do so daily or weekly while also downloading content that is relevant to your audience.

We specifically encourage newsrooms to share solutions-based stories, educational components like FAQs and guides, and other elements aimed at keeping our communities informed during the COVID-19 outbreak.

In addition to the member portal, the effort allows us to also provide a central repository for statewide COVID-19 coverage, providing residents with easy access to a breadth of coverage on the new coronavirus from Wisconsin newspapers, while referring readers back to member websites.

We plan to continue to develop and enhance this platform and its resources, including adding a capability to collect survey results collaboratively. If you have an idea for how to improve collaboration between members, please let us know by emailing WNA Communications & Membership Director Julia Hunter at Julia.Hunter@wnanews.com.
