Caden Perry is leaving River Valley Media Group for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Connect team.
A column in the March 3, 2026 issue of the La Crosse Tribune announced Perry’s departure. According to the column:
Perry made the 1,900-mile trek from Portland, Oregon, for the first step in his journalism career to join the staff of the La Crosse Tribune in November 2023.
“I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime here. That’s why it is no light moment for me to announce my departure already,” Perry wrote in the column.
During his tenure, Perry covered the termination of UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow and helped tell the stories of LaCrosse’s homeless population in addition to covering the La Crosse City Hall.
“If I have a final note to play, it’s this: For every story that earns the talk up and down town,” Perry wrote, “I bet there are two to three others my colleagues and I are proud of that deserve the same recognition.”
