The Pecatonica Valley Leader recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of printing its first edition on June 8, 2000, according to a June 12 story in the Pecatonica Valley Leader in Argyle.

Previous to the combined papers that are now the PVL were the Argyle Agenda  and the Blade-Atlas of Blanchardville. Reilly & Reilly Incorporated purchased the Agenda from News Publishing Company Inc. of Black Earth (the Reillys has owned the Blade-Atlas since 1983).

The final issue of the Argyle Agenda was published on June 1, 2000.

The PVL has continued to serve readers in the four-county region of Lafayette, Green, Iowa and Dane counties. The Leader office, still located at 101 N. State St. in Argyle, has bound copies of the Agendadating back to 1984 and the Blanchardville Blade ranging from 1951 until the merger.
