Alliance campaign ads about AI theft now available

News/Media Alliance is launching an ad campaign with ads like this to demonstrate the danger that AI’s uncompensated use of media content presents to the news media industry.

The News/Media Alliance new ad campaign about the danger that AI’s uncompensated use of news media content presents to the industry is currently accessible, with various ad sizes available here

Rumors ran around Washington that the Trump Administration could take dramatic action to try to give AI companies news and media content for free, so the ad campaign is very timely, according to Judy Gawczynski, VP of Membership for the News/Media Alliance.

Communications Director Sam Quigley said the campaign addresses AI theft in various ways:

• Participating in the ad campaign is voluntary, and NMI is offering plenty of alternatives to give you and other NMI members the flexibility to choose the image and message that you feel best fits your publications.

• Alliance members will see in the attached the call to action: “Stealing is un-American. Tell Washington to make Big Tech pay for the content it takes,” which members believe will resonate.

• The ad will link through to NMI’s Support Responsible AI micro website (or provide the URL for print ads) with more specific calls to action, how to engage, adding initiatives as they are launched, including legislation. NMI has formatted ad sizes for multiple mediums to run during the second week of April. If you plan to run the ads, please let Quigley know via email if NMI can count on your publication to run one of these ads.

Individual newspapers who have already used the ads in their publications should contact Quigley via email here so NMI has an accurate count of how many publications are running the ads.
