Lee Enterprises has named Paul Pehler president of the River Valley Media Group, the company announced Monday.
In addition to his role as group president, Pehler will serve as director of local sales and marketing. He takes over the group’s top leadership position from former president and publisher Sean Burke.

Pehler, an Arcadia native, has been with the company for 13 years. For the last two years, he served as regional advertising director. Prior to that role, Pehler worked at the group’s newspapers in Chippewa Falls, La Crosse and Winona, Minn., including as advertising director for The Chippewa (Falls) Herald.
The River Valley Media Group includes the Herald, La Crosse Tribune, The (Menomonie) Dunn County News, The (Onalaska/Holmen) Courier, The (Tomah/Sparta) Journal, the Vernon County Times, serving Viroqua and Westby, and the Winona (Minn.) Daily News.
