Gail T. Griswold, who owned the West Salem Journal with her husband, Donald W. Griswold, died Nov. 23 at the age of 93.

The Griswolds owned the West Salem Journal and later purchased the Bangor Independent, which they combined in the late 1960s to become the LaCrosse County Countryman. The paper is still published today as the Coulee News.
The Countryman was sold in 1971 and the Griswolds moved to Sauk Centre, Minn., where they purchased the Sauk Centre Herald. They published the Herald for 17 years.
Gail Griswold worked as a registered nurse after being at home when their four sons were young.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the West Salem Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
