Lecker, a veteran journalist and Wisconsin native, was been named executive editor of the Wisconsin State Journal in 2022.
Prior to coming to Madison, she served as interim editor and managing/investigative editor of the Columbus Dispatch; The Toledo (Ohio) Blade, where she served as projects reporter and state editor. She also worked two years as a reporter for The (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Journal Gazette in her first full-time role out of college.
Lecker is a UW-Stevens Point graduate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and Spanish in 1993.
