Warren E. Ruesch worked as publisher of the New Glarus Post before becoming the owner and editor of the paper. He died Jan. 19, 2003, at the age of 81, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Born and raised in Medford, Ruesch earned a journalism degree from UW-Madison, where he met his future wife, Margaret “Peggy” Erickson, in his final semester of his senior year. Ruesch utilized his degree throughout his newspaper career, which began as publisher, and later owner and editor, of the New Glarus Post. He also worked at the American Scientific Labs in Madison as a science writer, eventually transferring to the position of advertising manager.
In 1953, Ruesch and his family moved to Charles City, Iowa, where he worked as advertising manager at Salsbury Laboratories. He retired in 1984.
