Credited with creating the formula used for pricing Wisconsin’s legal notices, former De Pere Journal publisher Paul J. Creviere, Sr., died Jan. 29, 2008.
Creviere began working for his father at the De Pere Journal Democrat in 1945 after his discharge from the U.S. Army, and became a partner in 1947. The Crevieres purchased the newspaper after his father’s death in 1964 and changed the name to the De Pere Journal.
Creviere served three terms as a member of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, serving as president in 1972, and for many years was chairman of the WNA public notice committee.
