Nena Wills, former owner and publisher of the Belleville Recorder, was born Sept. 15, 1895, in South Wayne, Wis.
She graduated from Mazomanie High School before attending Superior State College. In 1920, she married Herbert Adams.
The couple moved to Belleville in 1938, where they purchased the weekly Belleville Recorder. They published the newspaper together until Adams’ death in 1945. She stayed on as publisher until 1945, when their son, John Adams, took over as owner.
She married Howard Wills in 1958 and they settled in River Falls.
Wills died June 29, 1980, in River Falls. She was 84.
