Margaret Wilma Johanson, 87, former owner of Wisconsin Newspress, Inc., publisher of two eastern Wisconsin newspapers, died Sept. 11, 2007.
Johanson served as publisher of The (Plymouth) Review and The Sheboygan Falls News from 1963 to 1985 and as associate publisher until her death. In 1985, the Johansons sold the majority interest in the newspaper to their son, Barry, and his wife, Christie, who publish the paper today.
During her 22 years of sharing principal ownership of the newspapers with her husband, Robert, Johanson served in many capacities from front desk receptionist to proof reader and even, as she liked to joke, “vice president in charge of janitorial services.”
