Lawrence “Larry” Paul was the editor and co-publisher of the Epitaph News in Viola and LaFarge. Prior to owning the newspaper, Larry worked in the press department of the Chicago Tribune for 21 years. He bought the Epitaph-News in 1985 and published it until 1988. In 1989, Larry started working as a film technician at Burne Photo Imaging in Madison until his retirement in 2006.
He married April Niemiec in 1964 in Chicago and they raised two children, Christin and Joseph. They later divorced. In 1992, Larry married Ellyn Sutherland in Viola. Later, their daughter Lauren was born.
He was a music lover, especially classical music. Larry also enjoyed baseball, Bears and Badgers football and spending time at the farm in Viola. Larry was fond of discussing world events over Old Style beer.
Larry died Nov. 2, 2014, at 71. He had two daughters, a son and two grandchildren.
