Jack Barenbaum, a native of Russia and longtime Manitowoc County newspaper publisher, put five decades into the industry in Wisconsin.

He moved to St. Paul, Minn., at age 4, and in 1929, Barenbaum joined the Manitowoc Evening Times as advertising manager. He became business manager and publisher of the Two Rivers Daily Reporter in 1938.

Barenbaum spent the last two decades of his career as publisher of the Manitowoc Herald-Times and the Two Rivers Daily Reporter until retiring in 1972.

He died at age 88 on March 17, 1989.
