Henry Brochtrup, former owner of the Boyd Transcript, was born in Forest Junction and moved to Stanley in 1898 as a young boy.
He married Alice Wilcox in 1927 in Stanley, where he worked as a printing foreman for the Stanley Republican. In 1929, Brochtrup bought the Boyd Transcript, which he owned and operated until retiring in 1962.
He served on the Chippewa County Board and spent 30 years as a member of the Stanley School .
Brochtrup died July 13, 1984, at a hospital in Stanley. He was 92.
