Submit your pitch, session ideas for the 2023 WNA Convention

We're looking for member pitches and suggestions for the 2023 WNA Convention in Madison. Submissions are due by Sunday, Feb. 5.

We are accepting both pitches for member-led programming and requests for programming topics. Sessions are 45 to 55 minutes and, if selected, will be presented on either Thursday, March 23, or Friday, March 24, at The Concourse Hotel in Madison.

Wisconsin Civics Games registration deadline is Feb. 20

The deadline to register for the 2023 Wisconsin Civics Games, which aims to promote civics education and encourage Wisconsin high school students to develop an interest in public service, is Feb. 20.

This year's regional competitions will be held virtually on Thursday, April 13 and Friday, April 14. The top-performing teams will advance to the state finals on Friday, May 12, at the State Capitol.

Kern named editor at The Post-Crescent

Taima Kern, who has worked for the USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin for more than 11 years, has been named editor of The Post-Crescent. Kern succeeds Larry Gallup, who served as editor of The Post-Crescent since 2021 and now works as an audience growth editor for USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.

Kern joined the network in 2011 as assistant editor for the Action Publications in Fond du Lac County. She became site editor of the Fond du Lac Reporter and the network's nine nondaily publications in 2016. She's a 2011 graduate of Ripon College.
