Former Clintonville columnist Joan Hansen dies at 76

Joan Kathleen Hansen, who served as a columnist for The Clintonville Chronicle and Clintonville Tribune-Gazette, died Wednesday, April 28, at her Shawano County home. She was 76.

Tricia Rose, publisher of the Chronicle, shared her memories of Hansen in a column Tuesday. Rose noted that when starting the newspaper in 2009, she was encouraged by several people to hire Hansen, also known as “Red.”

Columnist Anna Marie Lux leaves The Gazette after 30 years

Anna Marie Lux, a longtime columnist for The (Janesville) Gazette, has resigned from the newspaper to pursue an independent writing project.

Lux began writing human-interest columns for The Gazette in the early 1990s. She remained with the newspaper for 30 years, and by her count, wrote nearly 3,000 columns during that time.
