Join us for a celebration of open government and investigative reporting
Presented by the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council and the Madison Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. With assistance from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Highlights include:
- The Openness Awards, or “Opees,” presented by the FOIC.
- Presentation of the Distinguished Wisconsin Watchdog Award to 2020 recipient and 2022 recipient.
The reception will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. A cash bar will be available throughout. Just 156 tickets will be sold.
Proceeds benefit the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, participation of young journalists in the event, and an online investigative reporting workshop.
