Join the Milwaukee Press Club for its 2021 annual meeting and a celebration of life honoring Robert H. Wills, set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, at The Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St., Milwaukee.
This event is free and open to the public. Light appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available. RSVP by September 27. Advanced registration is suggested and can be done by booking here.

During the annual meeting, a brief state-of-the-club address and ratification of board member elections will take place prior to celebrating the life and career of Robert H. Wills.
Wills will be remembered for his leadership as an editor, publisher, mentor and hard-driving journalist; as founder and first president of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council; as a past national president of the Society of Professional Journalists; as a city editor and editor of the Milwaukee Sentinel; as vice chairman of Journal Sentinel Inc.; and as senior vice president of Journal Communications. Wills influenced the lives and careers of many people during his long tenure with the company.
Former colleagues of Robert H. Wills have started a fund in his memory with the Milwaukee Press Club’s Endowment. Tax exempt donations to the Freedom of Information Fund can be mailed along with this form to David Niles, MPC Endowment Ltd., 1505 N. 119th St., Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
The fund will be used to support research, writing and advocacy for open government, open records and freedom of information efforts.
