Report for America will continue supporting the careers of emerging and early career journalists by offering a host of new reporter positions in host newsrooms. Applications for these positions are now open through the deadline of Feb. 3, 2025.

Michigan man arrested for threatening Lakeland Times publisher

A Michigan man accused of making threats to an Oneida County judge and to a Minocqua newspaper publisher was arrested and jailed Dec. 5 in Michigan, according to a Lakeland Times article citing court records and an Oneida County Sheriff’s Office report. 

Introduction of Free Speech Protection Act applauded

Open meeting lawsuit settled

The Raymond School Board has admitted to violating Wisconsin open meetings laws as part of a lawsuit settlement, according to a Dec. 3, 2024 story published in The Journal Times of Racine.

Grand Chute faces open meetings lawsuit

Former Town Administrator Jim March filed a lawsuit against Grand Chute, Town Chair Jason Van Eperen, Supervisor Ron Wolff and former Supervisor Jeff Ings, claiming they violated Wisconsin’s open meetings law.
