Steve Wideman, a talented and versatile writer, photographer and videographer, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, after a four-year battle with cancer. He was 66.
Florence Berglund, along with her husband Robert Berglund, owned and operated the (Loyal) Tribune-Record-Gleaner from 1969 to 1998.

John M. Russell, who was well-known in photography circles and wrote a local history column in the (Menomonie) Dunn County News, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30 at age 93.
John H. “Jack” Lussier, The Capital Times founder William T. Evjue’s nephew, who went on to become one of Madison’s most prolific philanthropists, died Friday, July 27, 2018, at the age of 90. In 1963, Lussier became business manager of Madison Newspapers Inc. When Evjue died in 1970, Lussier was named one of his principal heirs and was elected to take his uncle’s place on the board of The Capital Times Co. Although he retired as business manager in 1982, he remained active on The Capital Times’ board and in recent years became its chairman.
