Lindecrantz joins Republican Journal as sports editor

Casey Lindecrantz has joined the (Darlington) Republican Journal as sports editor, the newspaper announced last month. Lindecrantz replaces Tom Gunnell, who is leaving the newspaper after 27 years to become the Deputy Clerk of Courts in Green County.

Lindecrantz earned his bachelor's degree in journalism and sports studies from the University of Iowa in 2018. In college, he served as a writer and social media coordinator for the Iowa Journalist and as an anchor and reporter for Daily Iowan TV. He most recently served as the office assistant for Kunes Auto and RV Group in Platteville. 

Monroe Times names Dillon as sports editor

Natalie Dillon, a 2021 graduate of UW-Oshkosh, has been named sports editor of The Monroe Times.

After graduating from college, Dillon spent a year as sports editor of The Crookston (Minnesota) Times before returning to Wisconsin to accept the new role with her hometown newspaper.

Brian O’Connor new managing editor at Watertown Daily Times

Brian O’Connor has been named managing editor of the Watertown Daily Times and Daily Jefferson County Union, Adams Publishing Group of Wisconsin has announced. He started work with the newspapers on Nov. 29.

A 2001 Watertown High School graduate and former Daily Times intern, O'Connor most recently served as the lead content editor for No-Till Farmer and other agriculture publications at Lessiter Media in Brookfield. He succeeds former APG Wisconsin group editor Scott Peterson, who retired in September

Chelsey Dequaine-Jerabek joins Voice Media Group

Voice Media Group has hired Chelsey Dequaine-Jerabek to the newly created position of editorial director.

Dequaine-Jerabek is currently the director of marketing and social media for The Capital Times and Madison Media Partners where she has specialized in creating digital strategies and partnerships to increase readership and raise brand awareness.

Cap Times names Mark Treinen as new top editor

Mark Treinen, executive editor of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, will become editor of The Capital Times on Jan. 3, editor and publisher Paul Fanlund has announced. In addition to his role with the Press-Gazette, Treinen serves as news director of Gannett’s 10 central and northeastern Wisconsin newsrooms.

As publisher, Fanlund will continue to manage The Cap Times’ event portfolio, write his column, serve as a board member of The Capital Times Co. and the Evjue Foundation, and oversee the newspaper's business operations.

Dempski joins Courier Press as sports editor

Cara Dempski has joined the (Prairie du Chien) Courier Press as a sports editor and reporter.

An Elk Mound native, Dempski began her journalism career in 2016 at the Tribune Press Reporter in Glenwood City after working for nearly a decade in human services. She went on to become regional sports editor for the Lake Mills Leader and Hometown News Group before her most recent role as a sports reporter for the (Eau Claire) Leader-Telegram.

Pam Mathes named GM of O’Rourke Media Group in Wisconsin

Pam Mathes has been promoted to general manager of O’Rourke Media Group’s holdings in Wisconsin, according to an announcement published earlier this month.

Mathes formerly served as director of sales operations for the company. In her new role, she will direct employees working in the business office, graphic design and sales.

Bursiek Kloehn joins Post-Crescent

Alexandria Bursiek Kloehn has joined The (Appleton) Post-Crescent as a business reporter producing The Buzz, the newspaper's blog and newsletter about the comings and goings in the Fox Valley business scene.

An Appleton native, Bursiek Kloehn was most recently the Streetwise reporter for the Green Bay Press-Gazette

Balk-Yaatenen joins Janesville Gazette

Kylie Balk-Yaatenen has joined The (Janesville) Gazette as its new community, public safety and courts reporter. In her new role, she will cover the greater Rock County area.

A Wausau native, Balk-Yaatenen earned her degree in multimedia journalism this year from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. In college, she worked at the Advance-Titan student newspaper as a staff reporter covering arts and entertainment, later, as editor of the entertainment section.
