Lucy Ripp is the newest member of the reporting staff of The (Monona/Cottage Grove) Herald-Independent and McFarland Thistle.

Ripp grew up in Cambridge before attending UW-Eau Claire, where she worked as a journalist and media assistant for the university. She also served as a marketing and social media intern for UW-Madison during the summer of 2017. She graduated in 2019 with her bachelor’s degree in communications.

Karin Henning is the newest member of the Mount Horeb Mail advertising staff.

She fills the role vacated by Marc Mickelson, who left the Mail this month after 20 years with the company.

Greg Peck, who in 2016 retired as opinion page editor of The (Janesville) Gazette, has published a book about his memories of growing up in Marshall, a small village about 20 miles northwest of Madison.

For every copy sold, Peck will donate $10 of the proceeds from his self-published book to the Marshall Area Historical Society. He will be signing the book, titled “Memories of Marshall: Ups and Downs of Growing Up in a Small Town,” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sept. 27, outside the historical society museum, 128 E. Main St.

Jason Adrians, a veteran journalist with more than 20 years of experience in newspapers, has been named executive editor of the Wisconsin State Journal.

Adrians fills the role vacated by John Smalley, who stepped down last month after nearly 12 years with the newspaper. In addition to leading the State Journal newsroom, Adrians will continue in his role as national editor for its parent company, Lee Enterprises.

Veteran journalist Kevin Passon has been named editor of the Antigo Daily Journal and will take over the role Aug. 31. He replaces Lisa Haefs, who retired earlier this month.

Passon currently serves as managing editor The (Cottage Grove) Herald-Independent and McFarland Thistle. Both newspapers are owned by Adams Publishing Group.

Bryann Bozeman has joined the advertising staff at Unified Newspaper Group as a customer relationship coordinator, UNG announced Monday.

Serving as a link between account executives and their advertising clients, Bozeman will be responsible for ensuring quality advertising, marketing and customer service for UNG advertisers.
