Tia Bethke has joined the staff of The Gazette in Janesville as a summer editorial intern.
Born and raised in Delavan, Bethke is currently a junior at Northwestern University’s Medill School studying journalism and political science.
Bethke works on The Daily Northwestern staff while at school, and most recently served as assistant city editor and a local politics and housing beat reporter. Her reporting interests include politics, religion and housing.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to report on housing issues Rock County residents face,” Bethke wrote in her introductory column that appeared in the June 17, 2026 issue of The Gazette. “I’m looking forward to learning the ins and outs of a local daily paper, improving my reporting skills and getting to know the Janesville community this summer.”
