Longtime Wisconsin journalist Matt Johnson has been named editor of the Richland Observer, he announced in a recent column.
A native of Janesville, Johnson attended UW-Whitewater and started his journalism career at the Daily Jefferson County Union in Fort Atkinson. He went on to work for 15 years at the Vernon County Broadcaster and La Crosee Tribune.
Johnson also served as editor of the Fennimore Times — for a total of 12 years in two stints. Most recently, he was publisher of The Monroe Times for five years.
