COLUMBIA, MO, Feb. 27, 2023 – (News Leaders Association) – The News Leaders Association (NLA) is accepting submissions for the 2023 News Leaders Association Awards with a deadline of April 7, 2023. Thanks to generous sponsors, all awards this year will come with a cash prize.
NLA is celebrating the extraordinary journalism produced in 2022, with award categories that take into account the massive stories that unfolded across the past twelve months. The awards will continue to shine a light on quality work, leadership, and innovative storytelling.
The News Leaders Association believes that diverse newsrooms better cover America’s communities. As part of its continuing effort to chronicle diversity and employment in U.S. newsrooms, NLA is requiring that all digital and print outlets that submit for any NLA award agree to participate in the next News Leaders Association Diversity Survey or conduct and publish their own newsroom’s survey for NLA to share. Broadcast outlets, which are not part of the NLA survey at this time, are currently exempt from survey participation and can apply for awards. The NLA diversity survey submission period will be announced later this year.
The fee for entries is $75/entry. All news websites, news services (including radio, TV stations and magazines) and newspapers in the United States are eligible to enter. Newsrooms of all sizes are encouraged to participate.
