Several APG weeklies move to Friday publication, delivery

Several Adams Publishing Group weekly newspapers in southern Wisconsin moved to new publication schedules this week, publishing and delivering on Friday instead of Thursday.

Among those making the switch were the DeForest Times-Tribune, Lodi Enterprise and Poynette Press, Milton Courier, and The Waunakee Tribune. Jonathan Stefonek, editor of the Times-Tribune, explained in Friday’s newspaper some benefits that are expected for readers following the change.

Stefonek first noted the change in schedule would mean fresher news for readers, as they would be able to include coverage of more midweek events in each week’s paper. This includes Tuesday night sports, school board or local government meetings and election coverage.

He also noted the move is expected to result in more reliable delivery for readers.

The change in publication schedule will not affect advertising deadlines for the newspapers. But they will push obituary deadlines back a day to ensure they are as timely as possible.
