Richard P. Prideaux (1920-2005) is former publisher of the Weyauwega Chronicle. Prideaux died July 29, 2005, in Elkhorn. He was 84.

Prideaux was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Ripon. On April 18, 1953, in Elgin, Ill., he married his wife, Mildred C. Christian, and they lived in Weyauwega until moving to Lake Geneva in 2003.

He graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., with a degree in commerce. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Lt. Senior Grade from 1942 until his discharge in 1945.

Prideaux owned and operated the Weyauwega Chronicle from 1956 until 1983 and was an active member of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association.
