Patsy Jean Boggs ‘Thompson died July 8, 2006, after a battle with cancer. Thompson, 68, was a graduate of Seneca High School, and served in the Navy for two years as a photographer. She met her husband, Steve, while on duty with the Navy. They were both photographers at Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

Thompson and her husband became the third generation of Thompsons to serve as editor and publisher of the Mid-County Times newspaper in Pardeeville. They purchased the business from her in-laws, Hoot and Ally Thompson, in 1976. When they sold the newspaper in 1986, she began working for Kmart in Portage, where she retired in 2001.

A devoted wife, affectionate mother and a doting grandmother, she loved to read and watch sports on TV, especially NASCAR, the Packers and the Badgers. Travel was also a very important part of her life to keep her connected to her extended family. She was also a deacon at First Presbyterian Church, and was grand representative of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland for the Order of the Eastern Star.
