Matea Marolla published the Horicon Reporter with her family for more than 30 years.
Born July 6, 1912 in Pence, Wis., Marolla later married Ed Marolla Sr., on June 23, 1934, in Montreal, Wis.
In addition to her work at the newspaper, Marolla was a member of the St. Malachy Catholic Church, later known as the Sacred Heart Parish, and the Christian Mothers organization. She also was a member of the Horicon Senior Citizens and belonged to several area homemaker’s clubs.
Marolla died June 25, 2001, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau at age 88.
