Elliot Trossen Zander, former editor and publisher of The Brillion News, was born Feb. 5, 1907, in Brillion to Otto J. and Isabel (Trossen) Zander. The son of a newsman, Zander was directly involved in newspapers as early as his days at Brillion High School.
He married Margart Elizabeth Specht on June 21, 1930 in Two Rivers. They had four children together, Zane, Betty, Noel and Fay.
Zander followed in his father’s footsteps, taking over editing and publishing The Brillion News following his Otto Zander’s death in 1944.
He is also remembered for community service. He served on Brillion’s fire department, as a justice of the peace, on the local chamber of commerce and as chairman of the civilian defense of the city.
