Each year, the WNA Foundation recognizes hundreds of newspaper professionals across the state with Better Newspaper Contest awards. It’s a tradition made possible because of reciprocal judging partnerships with other newspaper associations. Without volunteers, the WNAF would not be able to hold its annual contests.
Later this year, the West Virginia Press Association will judge the WNA Foundation’s annual contest. Now, it’s our turn to provide judges for their upcoming program. The WVPA needs at least 70 volunteers to judge its contest across a variety of editorial, photography, design and advertising categories.
This is beyond the number of sign-ups that we typically receive, so if you’ve never judged in the past, please consider doing so this year.
In addition to helping make this important recognition possible, serving as a judge is a great opportunity to draw inspiration from peers in another state.
