MADISON — Cap Times Idea Fest, now in its fourth year, will be held virtually over a two-week span, editor and publisher Paul Fanlund announced this week.
Beginning Sept. 26, the annual festival will feature about two dozen virtual sessions available on-demand and watchable on any device. All sessions are free, with the exception of those reserved exclusively for paid Cap Times members.

As in past years, the 2020 Idea Fest lineup features several prominent speakers. Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will be the opening guest, interviewed by Cap Times opinion editor Jessie Opoien. Other speakers include U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minneapolis, Gov. Tony Evers, UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank and investigative reporter and author Bob Woodward.
Woodward will anchor the final session of this year’s Idea Fest, talking about “Rage,” his second book on President Donald Trump. The session will be moderated by Wisconsin native David Maraniss, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist.
Last year, Editor & Publisher magazine recognized the newspaper’s success with the event in its “10 Newspapers That Do It Right” feature.
