Former Milwaukee Journal promotion manager Harvey Kroboth dies at 94

Harvey Leonard Kroboth, a former longtime member of The Milwaukee Journal advertising department, died Aug. 6 in Riverside, Calif. He was 94.

Kroboth was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Milwaukee to Frank and Irma (Krueger) Kroboth. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He later served in U.S. Marine Corps.

In 1950, Kroboth married his wife, Alice Moeller. Together they had two children — Kurt and Kathleen — six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Following his military service Kroboth studied commercial art at the Milwaukee Art School. After graduation, he worked at Gimbels and J.C. Kroboth later moved up to promotion manager and went on to spend the rest of his career at The Journal until retiring in 1980.
