The 80th annual National Newspaper Week, a celebration of the impact newspapers have in their communities, will be observed Oct. 4-10. This year’s theme is “America Needs Journalists.”
The annual effort is sponsored by Newspaper Association Managers, Inc., a consortium of North American trade associations representing the industry. This year’s content was produced by members of the Iowa Newspaper Association.
WNA members are encouraged to localize content and should plan to mark the week by helping to reinforce the importance of newspapers to their community. Materials are now available for planning purposes on the National Newspaper Week website, including columns, editorial cartoons and additional resources.
