Henry de Fiebre, former senior VP of Reiman Publications, dies at 70

Henry Raymond de Fiebre, a Madison native and former journalist who worked for nearly two decades at Reiman Publications, died March 29 in Naples, Fla. He was 70.

De Fiebre was born March 25, 1950, in Madison, to Conrad W. and Harriet (Hamm) de Fiebre. He graduated in 1972 from Northern Illinois University, where he worked as a reporter and editor for The Northern Star student newspaper.

After graduating, de Fiebre started his professional career at the Southern Illinoisan newspaper in Carbondale. He stayed until 1978, when he took a job as editor at the Evansville (Indiana) Courier.

In 1980, de Fiebre married Karen Rothe, a former Illinoisan colleague who worked for The Milwaukee Sentinel. Together they had one son, Jonathan, and one grandson, Matthew.

In 1981, De Fiebre joined Reiman Publications as an editor, working his way up to editorial director, vice president and senior vice president. He remained with the company until retiring in 1999.

By his preference, no funeral will be held for de Fiebre. A memorial service is planned for the future.
