RHINELANDER — Officers from three law enforcement agencies executed search warrants last week at Rhinelander City Hall as part of an ongoing investigation involving alleged misconduct and tampering with public records.
According to the warrant, city administrator Daniel Guild is suspected of failing to release public records in response to requests by the media and law enforcement, as well as “altering email content to present it as the original,” the Northwoods River News reported.

In August, Guild sent an email to the River News, in response to an open records request for a personnel file named in the warrant, stating it had been “inappropriately removed” from city files.
The council is expected to discuss Guild’s possible suspension on Dec. 9.
