FORT ATKINSON – A fundraiser for Cara Dempski is planned for 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in her hometown of Elk Mound, the Daily Jefferson County Union reports.
Dempski, regional sports editor for the Lake Mills Leader and Hometown News Group, suffered a massive stroke and brain bleed in December. She was covering a crash for the newspaper as the time of the stroke and continues to undergo rehab.
The fundraiser, a spaghetti dinner, will be held at Elk Mound High School. All funds from the dinner will go to Dempski, a 1996 graduate of the school.
