BLACK RIVER FALLS – Elijah T. Smith has joined the Hocak Worak staff as its newest reporter, the newspaper announced Friday.
Smith, who currently is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in New Mexico, brings strong photography and graphic design skills to the role. He takes over the position previously held by Gary Garvin, who left the newspaper to concentrate on his academic career.
Editor Ardith Van Riper also noted Friday the Hocak Worak is in the hiring process for another reporter and working on upgrading its camera equipment.
