ASHLAND – Alison Tollas, an Ashland native, has joined the Daily Press staff as a summer intern, the newspaper announced Saturday.
Tollas recently completed her junior year at UW-Superior, where she studies English and writing. She’s also a member of the UW-Superior women’s tennis team and has written for The Promethean student newspaper.
In addition to Tollas’ hiring, Daily Press managing editor Peter J. Wasson announced the newspaper is looking for help with its local sports coverage and for writers to cover food and drink-related topics. Those interested should email Wasson at pwasson@ashlanddailypress.net.
Wasson’s search, in part, stems from the loss of three contributors: Hilary Jewell, Lucas Will and Rick Oftel. Between them, they wrote about events in Bayfield, Outdoors coverage and home brewing. All three are pursuing new opportunities.
