The executive director of the Arkansas Press Association was elected president of Newspaper Association Managers, Inc. (NAM) during the group’s 103rd Annual Summer Conference on July 30, 2026 in Salt Lake City.
Ashley Kemp Wimberley will serve a one-year term as NAM president. She has served as executive director of the Arkansas Press Association since 2018. Previously, she served as the association’s director of marketing for 14 years. Wimberley grew up in a newspaper family and earned a degree in marketing from Union University.
Also elected to officer positions were Vice President Emily Bradbury, executive director of the Kansas Press Association, and Secretary Carolyn Nolte, executive director of the Florida Press Association. Debbie Anselm, executive director of the Iowa Newspaper Association, was elected to a three-year term on the board.
Phil Lucey, executive director of the North Carolina Press Association, becomes immediate past president.
Continuing directors are Rebecca Snyder, executive director of the Maryland-Delaware-DC Press Association, and Lynne Lance, executive director of the National Newspaper Association. Layne Bruce, executive director of the Mississippi Press Association, serves as the organization’s clerk.
Founded in 1923, NAM is a coalition of state, provincial, and national trade associations representing newspapers and affiliated digital media organizations in the United States and Canada.
