Beginning next month, readers of the Princeton Times-Republic, Green Lake Reporter and Markesan Regional Reporter will see a new chapter for their hometown newspapers as the three publications combine into one regional newspaper serving all three communities.
A July 23, 2026 story in the Berlin Journal announced the move.
With the new publication, named Regional Times Reporter, readers can expect the same commitment to local news, community events, school coverage and government reporting that they have come to rely on. The consolidation is intended to strengthen local journalism by bringing resources together while continuing to serve each community throughout the coverage area.
“Our goal is to continue providing meaningful local coverage across every community we serve,” said Alec Finger, interim editor of the Berlin Journal Newspapers. “Although the format is changing, our commitment to reporting on the people, organizations, schools and local governments that make these communities unique is not.”

The transition also marks a change in editorial leadership. Kristin Radtke has been named editor of the Berlin Journal Newspapers after serving the organization for 21 years. She is officially assuming the role on July 27.
Radtke brings more than two decades of experience covering the communities served by the newspapers and has built strong relationships with local residents, businesses and organizations during her career.
“Kristin knows these communities exceptionally well,” Finger said. “Her experience, dedication and understanding of local journalism make her the right person to lead the newspapers into this next chapter.”
For readers, most changes will happen behind the scenes. Reporters will continue covering meetings, local events, schools, sports, businesses and community organizations throughout Princeton, Green Lake, Markesan and the surrounding areas.
Readers can continue submitting story ideas, announcements and photographs through the newspaper’s normal channels.
The Berlin Journal, and Omro Herald will continue operating as its own publication and will not be affected by the consolidation.
