Dave Wood recently retired as General Manager and Director of Operations and Distribution for Multi Media Channels and from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association’s Board of Directors.
Dave served as Vice-President of the WNA board, a position that he officially left on June 4. He received a plaque in appreciation of his service during the June 4 board meeting held at Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River.
“I would like to take this opportunity today to congratulate Dave Wood on his retirement as General Manager and Director of Operations and Distribution for Multi Media Channels and to thank him for his dedicated service to the work of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association board of directors,” said WNA Board President Greg Mellis during the presentation in Eagle River. Mellis added, “You will be missed as an industry leader and a friend to the Wisconsin newspaper industry.”
A lifelong newspaper professional and a member of the distinguished Wood family, owners of Wisconsin-based Multi Media Channels, Dave is the nephew of the late Frank Wood.
Frank Wood built a reputation as one of Wisconsin’s most influential independent publishers and laid the foundation for what would become a multigenerational newspaper enterprise. That enterprise is now led by his son, Patrick Wood.
Dave spent his entire professional career working within the Multi Media Channels organization, helping guide the company’s newspaper and publishing operations through decades of industry change.
Over the years, Dave played a key role in operations, distribution, and the continued expansion of the MMC’s community newspaper footprint across Wisconsin.
Known for his deep commitment to local journalism and community publishing, Dave has remained dedicated to the mission of providing trusted local news and information to Wisconsin readers.
Under the continued leadership of the Wood family, Multi Media Channels has evolved into one of the region’s significant independent media organizations, operating newspapers, shoppers, and digital publications throughout the state.
