Monday April 13 marked the first day for the new Sports Editor of The Gazette, Zane Goedderz.
An article in the April 14, 2026 issue of The Gazette in Janesville made the announcement. According to the story:
A native of New London, Goedderz spent the past eight years working in college athletic communications at the University of Minnesota, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), and most recently at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He also worked in professional sports, interning with Minnesota United FC when he was in college.
While working at Ole Miss, Goedderz earned a masters degree in integrated marketing communications. He currently lives in Madison, returning to his home state after a handful of years working and studying in the South.
In his new role, Goedderz will be managing staff writer Matt Ellis and directing sports coverage in The Gazette. He steps into the role that Regional Editor Tim Sullivan has been filling on an interim basis since early February.
