After months of negotiations, the Pepin County Courier-Wedge will relocate to Wabasha, Minn., in early April 2026.
A piece in the March 12, 2026 issue of the Courier-Wedge detailed the move. According to the story:
Sundstrom & Company has acquired the Main Street property where the newspaper was located in Durand, with construction to begin after the close of the 2026 tax season.
The paper will not cease operations, but will further enhance the newspaper operations that Mike Stumpf and his family have built in western Wisconsin and the east-central portion of Minnesota.
Wabasha will be the hub for all Valley Publications and Stumpf Printing Company operations, while the Durand Community Library will continue to carry physical copies of the newspaper.
Publication timelines, email addresses and phone numbers for the Courier-Wedge will remain the same.
Individuals with questions should contact the Courier-Wedge office by phone at (715) 672-4252 during the office hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
